Yes. All of our rugs are handmade & handwoven by artisanal weavers in Afghanistan, from various provinces in the country.

Each rug is unique and has slight or even significant variations depending on the weaver, their experience and traditions.

Yes. Some war rugs at Reconistan are also used, and they’re usually very rare pieces. If a war rug is used, it will be  clarified on its product page.

Yes, your rugs can be washed if they ever get dirty, but not with commercial cleaning products. Inquire about specialized rug cleaning, as more abrasive cleaning products can strip the colors of your war rugs.

The colors on many rugs fade naturally with age — that’s to be expected and adds to their value. Bad fading can also occur as a result of war rugs being exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

Remember to use your blinds periodically on bright, hot days, or just leave your rug somewhere away from direct sunlight.

All war rugs shipped by Reconistan are either rolled up and plastic-wrapped, or folded and plastic-wrapped. These factors depend on the size and density of your rug or carpet.

Yes, Reconistan ships its products world-wide. Pricing is set at a standard rate based on your geographical location.

Expedited shipping options are available, but expect to pay more for faster shipping on the checkout page.

Shipping within The United States and Canada takes between 5 to 12 days after your order has been processed.  Expect 2 weeks or more for orders outside of North America.

That is to the discretion of the country your war rug is being shipped to. Reconistan is not responsible for any customs and duties charges you government places on your shipment to release your parcel.

Payments are made securely using Stripe as our main payment gateway. You also have the option to pay using PayPal If you so choose.

No. All payments are made using major credit card or PayPal. We also do not accept bank or money transfers.

Yes. All of our rugs may be returned up to 15 days after being received, in their original condition. You will be refunded in the same manner you had paid, or you can receive store credit. Return shipping is paid by the customer.

Depending on your situation, Reconistan, at its sole discretion, will volunatarily issue a refund or store credit upon receiving your war rug after the return period. Any additional fees (payment processor fees, duties/taxes, etc…) incurred during the return process to yourself or to Reconistan are to be paid by the you, the customer.
